Navajo Nation 2015

A privilege to collaborate with Mark and Gail McKeller, a missionary couple who founded an inter-church & children/youth ministry on the Navajo Nation Reservation. The Navajo Nation is the largest Native American Tribe in the US extending over three states. The Navajo Nation was one of the many Native American ethnic groups living in North America before the European Settlers arrived. The extreme remoteness of the region, poor economy, poor infrastructure and chronic health problems have led to major social challenges such as drunkenness, gang activity and broken families. The McKeller’s ministry and partner churches work together to see the body of Christ among the Navajos grow spiritually and practically. The trip goals include computer literacy and construction vocational training. This will prepare teenagers and young adults for work as well as develop skills that will help them remain employable, independent and financially sucessful.
